Determine your body shape:
Are you a rectangle, triangle, an inverted triangle, oval or hourglass shape?
All these shapes play a tremendous part in choosing what will look best on you.
Rectangle: Not much of a waist line.
You can wear any print on top or solid on bottom or vice versa. I would advice for you to wear a belt to emphasize the waistline.
Oval: Heavy in the middle.
Draw the eye away from your problem area by accessorizing towards the top of your shoulders; print at the top most part of the shirt or chunky noticeable necklace will do wonders.
Never put on a belt to accentuate your waist.
Triangle/Inverted Triangle: heavy on bottom & little on top/ little on bottom & heavy on top.
You need to emphasize the smallest area whether it be top or bottom with a print then wear something solid on the opposite part of your body.
Hourglass: You can wear prints all over, solids all over or mixing them because you’ve got a good proportion.
Who says you cant wear leggings?
Of course you can! Just choose dark colored leggings with a thick material.
The dark color will give you that illusion of slimmer legs and the thick material will give that smooth look to avoid lumps and bumps.
Do not wear something too tight or oversized!
Too tight: Need i say more? Unless you want to look like you cant breathe anymore.
Oversized: Large, loose and floppy clothing will just make you 2 sizes chunkier. Putting on a baggy clothing is very unflattering.
I don’t believe in large patterns!
They say large patterns can only make you look bigger but I am so going to disagree on that. To me, what matters is choosing the right cut and material.
